We may be in the midst of summer’s sweltering grip but it’s not too early to get a jump on the fast-approaching Fall/Winter 2018 fashions. So, what are the emerging trends showing up on the runways?
Fake fur
It’s still a toss-up – which is better for the environment, fake furs or the real thing. However, a resounding number of fake furs have been showing up on the runways – some softened with pastel pinks but many sporting expressly vibrant colors and intricate patterns.
Checks and plaids and more sequins
Checks and plaids seem to be carrying over from the summer collections as are all things sparkly. In many instances, the motif is included in matching sets.
Thick knit
Thick knitwear has appeared in a variety of apparel from sweaters to shorts. Similarly, puffy coats (i.e. “Puffers”) are looking like a sure bet.
Relive the eighties
80’s styles are about to return in a big way. From spandex and headbands to eclectic dresses, it’s a pretty sure bet that the vibrant 80’s styles are making a comeback.
Accessories
Accessory choices are waning so far. We’ve seen accessories ranging from blue sunglass lenses to round bags.
Jewelry
Layered necklaces have appeared in several shows. Nothing outlandish but rather, layers of light gold and silver chain sporting a stacked showcase of dainty pendants.
